Mosque blast kills Afghan gov, injures 18 during prayers - GUARDIAN

THE Governor of Afghanistan's eastern Logar province, Arsala Jama, has  been killed in a mosque blast during prayers for the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha on Tuesday.
He was greeting worshippers when a bomb apparently hidden in a microphone went off.
No fewer than18 others were injured in the incident which took place at Logar's main mosque in the provincial capital of Pul-i-Alam the late governor's spokesman, Din Mohammed Darwesh, said.
"The governor wanted to speak and congratulate everyone on the occasion of Eid. At least 18 other people have been wounded, including civilians and government employees,"he told AFP news agency.
There was however, no immediate claim of responsibility.
