TWO married women have been abducted by suspected Boko Haram sect members along Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, Benishiekh in Kaga local government area of Borno State.
Benisheikh has remained a danger zone for travellers since the September  2013 attack, where over 200 passengers were killed.
Since that major attack, security operatives had been deployed to the area to check the activities of the terrorists but this had not totally curbed their activities in the area.
Travellers who returned on a journey from Abuja, on Friday told Sunday Tribune in Maiduguri on Saturday that armed men, suspected to be Boko Haram sect members, at Benisheikh asked two women to alight from the bus.
“They were speaking in Hausa, but they did not collect anything from us. We were surprised that only those women were asked to alight from the vehicle, while pleas from one of the passengers in the vehicle were rebuffed. Immediately the women alighted from the vehicle, we were asked to leave.
“We informed the police officers we met on our way, who were on patrol. They asked us to tell them the exact scene of the incident, which we did, and they headed towards the area while we proceeded to Maiduguri,” he said.
